IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Lloyd
Truesdale
April 21, 1949 – November 8, 2025
The Life & Legacy of Bill Truesdale
William Lloyd "Billy" Truesdale, known to everyone as "Bill", was born on April 21, 1949, in Passaic, New Jersey. Bill was a man who was always dressed to impress. Whether it was a red suit or a blue suit, you would never catch Bill slacking. If you knew Bill, you knew he could tell you a story. He was a master storyteller who could recall an event from yesterday, or 40 years ago with so many vivid details that you could visualize it as if you were right there. If you hear the words, "Remember that time when...", you can probably hear his voice and have a story in your head right now he told you at some point.
Bill was a lover of people. He loved his family, and whether you were his biological family or extended family, you could count on Bill to remember your birthday, and he always reached out on holidays.
His life truly began almost 43 years ago on Thanksgiving, when he met the love of his life, his Queen 'Brenda'. From that day forward, Bill & Brenda became the song that Natalie Cole sang about…They were Inseparable. Bill continuously gave thanks to God for blessing him with his lifelong soulmate and would do everything in his power to assure his 'Queen' had everything she wanted & more.
Bill's life was defined by a strength that was incomparable to his Love for God. His Faith Walk was evident by the love he displayed for mankind & children alike. He was a true Servant, and he loved helping others. He united with Tabernacle Baptist Church under the Late Bishop Quincy LaVelle Carswell Sr., where he was an active member of the Men's Usher Board. As the new ministry was birthed, he joined The Covenant Church under Bishop Quincy LaVelle Carswell II, where he became involved even more so and lent his voice to the Men's Choir. He served faithfully until God called him home on November 8, 2025.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander & Louise Truesdale, and leaves to forever cherish his loving memories his loving wife, Brenda. He truly adored all of his children & grandchildren. He leaves his children: his daughters : Furhai 'Nini', Tekuila (husband Chris), Candice, and Kim; his grandchildren, with whom the love he shared was indescribable: Azure, Tysnn, Taylor, Tori, Kasey, Kimora, Kylie; and his great-grandchild, Devon.
He also leaves his siblings: loved and baby sister Judy (husband Jimmy) Gaines, his brother and medical advisor Kenny (wife Sharon), and 'lil bro' Keith, Patricia (husband Gary) Hardeman, Gloria Freeman, Valerie Bright, Veronica Clay (L.C.), his cousin-siblings: Charise, Valeria, and Vander; his nephews and nieces: Jared, Justice, Alexa, Temika, Ly'Sherion, Kimberly, Jasmine, Deresia, Jakiyah, Ava, Hailee, Quinn, Jason, Timmy, Duece, Tony and Alston. Jasmine, who had a special place in his heart, there was nothing she could ask for that he didn't make happen. He truly loved his in-laws, Mother Willie Belle Freeman, Charlie Jones aka 'Pop' & the entire Family as his own. Bill truly was loved by all.
