In humble submission to the will of God, the Stocks Funeral Home staff sadly announce the earthly departure of Rev. John C. Tate, On Sunday, October 24th, 2021. God saw fit to end this tedious journey of Rev. Tate. For we are reminded in Psalms 55:6 , It says " Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest." for we know that Rev. Tate is simply resting in the Bosom of the Lord. A Celebration of her life will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Greater Bethel AME Church; 2455 Lakewood Ave SW Atlanta, GA 30315. Rev. Tate will lie in State between the hours of 10:00 A.M until the hour of service. The mortal frame of Rev. John C. Tate will rest at The Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Public viewing will be held Friday, November 5th, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Stocks Funeral Home, Kirkwood Chapel. In every effort to protect our client families, protective facial coverings and social distancing are mandatory.

What is the definition of Ministry many may ask? Well Ministry is about giving of ourselves and our time, talents, and resources to bless and help others, And Rev. Tate truly stood by that. He was simply a HUSBAND who was adorned, a FATHER who was adored and a MAN who was a desired friend and a MAN who stood true to his ministry. The loss of a husband and a father is a heavy burden to bear. He's a source of quiet strength that is so missed when he's not there. Take comfort he's in Heaven, and looking down at you. He'll be there through the coming years, Watching over and guiding you. He's your very own guardian angel, and he'll be with you to the end, When you meet again in Heaven, And your broken heart will finally mend.
