In loving memory of Reid Ivory Brown, who was a wonderful son, loving husband and an awesome father. He was a man that loved life and the outdoors. Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days. All the things he collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else. Reid's wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what he owned or what he was owed. His grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear. So, will his hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire. The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away. It won't matter where Reid came from, or on what side of the tracks he lived.At the end, whether he was beautiful or brilliant, male even his skin color won't matter. So what will matter? How will the value of his days be measured? What will matter is not what he bought, but what he built; not what he got, but what he gave. What will matter is not his success, but his significance. What will matter is not what Reid learned, but what he taught. What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others. What will matter is not his competence, but his character. What will matter is not how many people he knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when his soul went to heaven.
