Jeroce Dante Thompkins, Sr. (Peanut) was born February 19, 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia to his surviving parents Arnita P. Johnson-Person and Bruce B. Thompkins. He was reared by a village including his parents, grandparents, loved ones, mentors and educators of Atlanta Public Schools.
Jeroce is survived by his son-Jeroce Dante Thompkins, Jr., daughter-Jaloni Sharnice Thompkins, sister-Dominique Spikerial Dean, his maternal grandfather-Charles L. Johnson, Sr., paternal grandmother-Eva Mae Thompkins, aunts and uncles: Sabrina Johnson-Shields (Vincent), Sephora Johnson-Wynder (Winfred), Ronald Johnson (Lisa), Jeffery Johnson (Kimberly), Charles Johnson, Jr. (Kijuana), Van Johnson (Keisha), and Eric Thompkins, loving cousins (some close like a sister or brother), additional aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.
Waiting at the Holy Gates to welcome him in was his maternal grandmother-Gwendolyn Johnson, paternal grandfather-Walter Thompkins, uncle-Ricky Thompkins, aunt-Teresa Thompkins, and cousin- Charmanie Johnson.
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Jeroce was called home to rest by our Lord Jesus Christ. He believed in God, and he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Peanut had a beautiful spirit and a vibrant personality. He laughed a lot because he was funny and silly. He loved his family and friends and was guaranteed to participate in family gatherings. The room would light up every time he walked in. Jeroce was well known for some entertaining times and if you happen to miss it, he always shared the fun on social media.
He was most definitely a foodie. He got pleasure in working on Sunburst, his shiny Cutlass Supreme. Peanut enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes and increasing the number of his sneakers collection. His boys were his brothers.
Jeroce will always have a place in our hearts. The flame of his smile, laughter, and junk talking will burn forever and will never cease to be forgotten. Rest peacefully Peanut!
